Heat Spreader

As we were designing the Spark Grill, we needed a way to evenly disperse the heat from a 2,000+ °F localized source of fire to a 386 square inch cooking surface with a height clearance of only 2.5 inches. I eagerly took on this challenge and through diligent prototyping, testing, and analysis, I designed a product that accomplished this mission with unrivaled results.

The heat spreader was a removable, double wall insulated, porcelain enameled coated, spot welded steel part. This simple, yet incredibly effective product showcases my strong grasp on the fundamentals of heat transfer, and the impressive performance of the heat spreader led the team to pursue a utility patent for the design.
